Last season was not exactly a golden moment for Greek television. There were a productions that managed to stand out, but overall, audiences were left waiting for stronger stories and more memorable performances. This year, however, things look different. The new Greek TV season arrives with renewed ambition, promising series and young actors who could become the names everyone will be discussing in the months ahead.
It’s only July, but from the teasers that are on air, we already know which actors & artists will stand out this year. Eirini Angelopoulou (Gia Sena), Stratis Chatzistamatiou (Camping), Tasos Lekkas (Agios Iosif), Stavros Tsoumanis, Iasonas Chronis and Georgia Mesariti (Oi Kores Tis Aretis), and Chrysi Kasioti (Blue Hours) are among the people worth keeping an eye on, as they represent a new wave of Greek television… And this wave is exactly what we need now. Actors who want to make things better in television, who want to create new legendary moments.
Of course, success isn’t guaranteed. A great actor still needs a great script, and a promising series still has to connect with viewers. But if the upcoming television season delivers on its early promise, these are the names that could dominate conversations in the months ahead.
Perhaps that’s the most exciting part of the new season. It’s not simply about which series will become hits—it’s about watching a new generation of actors step into the spotlight, not by chance, but through the work they’ve put in before the cameras started rolling.
