Is This What a Gentle Revolution Looks Like? RE:GUYS Begin Again — A SINON Interview

In a landscape where new groups debut every season, RE:GUYS stand out not because they chase spectacle, but because they chase sincerity. Once known as GreatGuys, they return now with a renewed name and a renewed purpose — not erasing their past, but choosing to evolve from it. Their story begins again, not with grand declarations, but with a quiet, collective promise: to move forward with honesty, to choose happiness with intention, and to build a world where fans feel seen, welcomed, and remembered.

What makes them compelling isn’t just their talent — though they have plenty of it — but the way they approach their, their fans, and each other. Whether they’re reflecting on the emotions behind their performances, imagining the memories they hope to leave behind, or redefining what accessibility in K‑pop can look like, RE:GUYS speak with a clarity that feels rare and refreshing.

They’re a group that wants to be easy to love because they show up as their real selves. A group that dreams of performances that linger like a smile. A group that measures success not in trophies, but in shared joy.

And as they open this new chapter, one thing becomes clear: RE:GUYS aren’t just restarting a career — they’re building a feeling. One that fans will want to return to again and again.

For now, they share these beginnings — and these hopes — exclusively with SINON.

Every era has a starting point. What does the beginning of RE:GUYS collectively mean to you?
The beginning of RE:GUYS is our promise to never give up and to keep moving forward, and it’s our choice to pursue happiness. Above all, it’s a starting point filled with sincerity — a desire to repay the fans who always support us.
What question would you like people to ask more often about your artistry rather than your history?
Minki: I’d like to talk more about what emotions I carry into my acting and with what determination I try to bring each character to life in every project. I hope people can see the sincerity in the process, not just the final result.
Imagine a person who first discovered RE:GUYS five years later. What kind of first impression do you want people to miss today?
Jinhyun: I hope that “good memories” will come to mind first, rather than complex images. I hope it will be remembered as a warm, comfortable, and a moment you want to recall.
If we could design a performance that captures the essence of RE:GUYS right now, what would be the visual or emotional anchor centered around that performance?
Younggi: For us, the most important thing is that our performance becomes a happy memory for the audience. A show that leaves them smiling even after they’ve left the venue.
If you could introduce new creative rules into space, what would only your group dare to do?
D.I.: I want to keep the rule that we are a group that can be loved in a very friendly and natural way, both on stage and offstage. More like us than the fabricated appearance.
What aspects of the K-pop system do you want the group to quietly challenge themselves in a different way than before?
Donghyun: Rather than a system that feels difficult and distant, I want to show a familiarity that anyone can approach without feeling burdened. RE:GUYS hopes to be a group that is easily accessible.
What kind of feelings would you like fans to have when they decide to stay with RE:GUYS?
Daeyoung: I hope the times we spent together eventually remain as “happy memories.” A memory that naturally brings a smile to your face when you recall it during difficult times.
If you could talk to your future self, what would you like him to remember about this moment?
Semin: I’d want him to remember how sorry I felt for not being able to answer this interview myself because I’m currently serving in the military, and that even so, I want to ask him — and everyone — to wait a little longer. I hope he remembers the gratitude and the anticipation of this moment.
What does success look like for RE:GUYS as they create this new chapter?
RE:GUYS: Rather than something grand or extravagant, success for us is the accumulation of moments where we and our fans can laugh together and be happy together. That, in itself, is what RE:GUYS considers success.
