The new television season kicks off with ambitious productions, big names, and promises of emotion, laughter, and plot twists. But will they deliver? Among the 100 (yes, it might actually reach that number) series scheduled to premiere, we’ve picked four that — for very different reasons — deserve your attention. From our couch to the streets of Nafplio, from period drama to sharp comedy, here are our top picks:
💔 Na m’ agapas – ALPHA
Set against the postcard-perfect backdrop of Nafplio, ALPHA introduces a new drama that explores love, abandonment, and family reunions. Two twin siblings, abandoned 27 years ago, discover that their biological mother is alive — and married to a wealthy man with a new family. The truth that unfolds promises to upend everything.
🔹 Why it stands out: A cast full of young actors brings energy and authenticity. If the direction supports the script, this could be a series that speaks to the heart without slipping into melodrama.
Cast: Dimitris Alexandris, Stefani Kapetanidi, Stathis Stamoulakatos, Elisavet Moutafi, Michail Tampakakis, Kostas Nikouli, Eirini Angelopoulou, Alexandros Piechowiak, Megi Souli, Giorgos Triantafyllidis, Andriana Andreovits, Alina Kotsovoulou, Eirini Tsellou, Marilia Mitrousi. In the role of Nikaiti: Mania Papadimitriou.
🕊️ Oi Athooi – ERT
Based on Konstantinos Theotokis’ novel The Convict, ERT’s new period drama may be a mini-series, but it looks anything but small. With a script by Eleni Zioga and direction by Nikos Koutelidakis, the show stars Kostas Nikouli and Christina Cheila-Fameli — two actors who know how to bring depth and silence where it matters.
🔹 Why it stands out: The trailer already reveals a well-crafted production with an aesthetic that doesn’t try to impress — it simply tells the story. If it maintains its rhythm and atmosphere, this could be the most meaningful series of the season.
Cast: Christina Cheila-Fameli, Kostas Nikouli, Yiannis Niarros, Kimon Kouris, Amalia Kavali, Giorgos Stamos, Maria Kallimani, Eleni Zioga, Loukia Michalopoulou, and more. In the role of the hermit: Christos Kalavrouzos.
😂 Giati re patera – ANT1
ANT1 is investing in comedy — and rightly so. Michalis Leventogiannis plays Michailos, a character caught in a manhunt after the death of Tsatsanis, with a large sum of money at stake. The series promises humor, action, and characters who thankfully don’t take themselves too seriously.
🔹 Why it stands out: We’ll see plenty of comedies this year, because clearly we need them. If this one manages to balance silly and smart, it could be the season’s pleasant surprise.
Cast: Michalis Leventogiannis, Konstantina Michail, Ilias Valasis, Michalis Michalakidis, Theano Kladi, Konstantinos Liaros, Niki Lami, Thanos Birkos, Fotini Papachristopoulou, Amalia Ninou, Elena Megreli, Nikos Papadopoulos, and Christos Gavriilidis.
🧠 To Paidi – ERT
A former taekwondo champion saves Dimitri, a boy on the autism spectrum, from an attempted murder. The plot unfolds in a remote village, where the characters struggle to survive, accept, and protect. With a script by Panagiotis Iosifelis and direction by Stefanos Blatsos, this 150-episode series promises intensity, emotion, and social commentary.
🔹 Why it stands out: The plot. Ambitious, multi-layered, and — if it doesn’t lose its way — it could become a landmark for how Greek television tackles themes like autism, violence, and acceptance.
Cast: Vasilis Boutsikos, Anna Maria Papaharalampous, Alexandros Logothetis, Denia Stasinopoulou, Izabella Baltsavia, Nikolakis Zeginoglou, Alexia Kaltsiki, Stavros Tsoumanis, Katerina Lypiridou, Alexandros Moukanos, Elena Topalidou, Anna Mascha, Christos Kontogeorgis, Maria Bagana, Nikolaïs Bimbli, Cynthia Batsi, and more.
This season seems to have something for everyone — and that’s promising. Right?
